...or at least a more sensible default than simply "$PWD".
I'm running SL from inside a folder that is read-only (/opt/secondlife) so $PWD points there during execution of the sl binary... ...and in that case, snapshot to disk uses that readonly folder as the default for snapshots... and if you're used to that dialog starting in the previously used location like on windows, you just hit enter, trying to save a snapshot to a location where you cant create files, in which case it just silently fails w/o error message.
so if there was a default of $HOME at least, it'd be much better.
even better would be if the client would remember the last used folder across sessions, and start with that.
This is a four lines patch... It will be part of the next Cool SL Viewer releases. The default directory will now be the home directory of the user (instead of the installation directory) and the viewer will still remember what directory is used for what type of file (animation, sound, picture, screen shot) during the session (which is already the case).
