As matters currently stand, if the media filter window pops up, you can't do anything else until you Allow, Deny, Whitelist, or Blacklist the media in question.
Most of the time, this is not that big a deal. (It was even less of a problem pre-MOAP; these days, it can trigger when parcels you don't even know about happen to come within camera distance.) But I've been wandering around SL10B, and it seems like every few paces I've needed to stop and dismiss the filter.
Is there any chance the media filter can be handled in the same way as, say, group notices and inventory offers? That is, default to not playing the media until you're told otherwise, but allow the dialog box to sit in a corner until the user gets around to dismissing it?
The media filter alerts are not modal ones !... You can keep doing other stuff and acknowledge them later (while modal alerts require that you acknowledge them before you can interact with anything else), but they are (and will stay) alerts, not notifications.
