Sometimes when saving a script, asset server issues or a momentary spike in lag cause the save to fail, and you get a popup messaging informing of this. However, the "Save" button on the script editing window remains grayed out, requiring you to make a quick change to the script and then (optionally) revert it in order to save. Can the Save button be changed so that if the script fails to save, it will "ungray" itself so that you can save the script again?

Also, can Meerkat's "save/load script to/from hard disk" feature be integrated into Cool Viewer?

No, or at least not without a change in the way the viewer processes asynchronous server messages. Please, post a JIRA issue to ask for LL to work on this issue. I have myself no time available to invest in this, sorry.

This feature was implemented (and still exists) in the v1.1x branch of the Cool SL Viewer (long before Meerkat even existed...), but it was not kept after v1.20, because of the large changes it would require to be properly implemented (as it is, it's an ugly hack). LL was supposed to work on such a feature. Not sure how much they actually worked on it...
