hello
thank you for this tool
is it possible to add the "temporary upload texture" option as seen in some other clients like "greenlife emerald viewer" ?

Ok, found it. Has some odd inconsistent features like Dale's Avatar scanner that obviously can't work properly in this form and a phantom and forced sit feature. Not sure what it is for. Some other weird stuff in the preferences. Looks like someone has thrown some patches on a viewer without really understanding how they work and what they are for. Or perhaps it's just me :).

However I could not find what "temporary upload texture" is. Something from the SL plugins eventually?

If you don't want to spend the 10L for an upload I suggest to work on your textures and creations in the beta grid. And only upload the final version to the main grid when you think it is ready. Messing around with the protocol may not only cause technical issues when communicating with a simulator, it may also result in getting you banned for your activities that are not governed by LL's protocols.

thank you for attention
the way to switch to the beta grid to upload texture is boring
there is a patch to allow to upload textures only to the sim directly and for free ( allowed by linden for sure )
to see how it is working in the emerald viewer, you can begin to upload a texture and when the texture is previewed, there is a checkbox called "temporary" or somthing like that

I seriously doubt that. This was a hack with the so called "SL plugins", similar to a manipulation of your Linden $ balance. And this seems to be somehow implemented in that viewer you mentioned. I can only suggest to stay away from that.

The only way to upload a temporary (and free) texture would be to make the viewer believe that it is a baked texture (backed textures are used for avatars: such a texture combines the various skin and clothing layers and is used by the sim server in order to speed up the avatar rendering, everyone connected to that sim getting it to render the corresponding avatar).

A pointer to the patch used by this viewer (which I don't even know) would help...

i dont know about the patch i think that this is using the "SL plugins" like the ones here : http://code.google.com/p/par/

the link to get sources from the emerald viewer is here http://modularsystems.sl/index.php?opti ... t&Itemid=5

This is a proxy, not a viewer.

Since no diff with the official sources (patch) is provided for each feature implemented in that viewer, and since no documentation is provided about what are the new features and their usage, the only choice left is to reverse engineer them based on a global diff with the official viewer sources... Well, sorry, but I have no time to spend on this.
