...and the id3 headers are available only when you're using FMOD.
but... it so happens that at least on my linux desktop, fmod produces echoing, staticy, horrible sound quality, not only for streams but for all sounds...

I have not encountered any problem related to this feature with my Windows7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP desktops.

FMOD works just fine (actually waaaaay better than OpenAL) under Linux as well... I suggest you check for updated or better audio drivers...

it depends on the sound card used and the distro/sound driver.
There are various options you can uncomment in the snowglobe startup script that might help.
Mine was solved on my last computer with uncommenting the option to avoid using bad openal drivers.
Current laptop the sound is perfect.

Edit to add: currently the only linux sl client that shows the stream info is Imprudence, even though the linux builds of firestorm/Phoenix and Kirstens have an option to enable it.

Has enough of the V2.x code been backported to be able to readily put this feature in yet, Henri ? BTW, kudo's for getting the mesh backport done !

Can this be put in at the same time as multiple clothing layers...it would make a splendid double whammy !

Implemented in v1.26.2.11. Say thank you to Shyotl Kuhr who implemeted it in Singularity (my own implementation is loosely based on Shyotl's, but as always, having a good base helps a great deal to code the right algorithm).

Thank you for the implementation Henri !

Actually, your version came out before Shyotl's was implemented in Singularity's binary(though I see it in the commits for the next release of Singularity), which, most of the work had already been done by Katharine Berry for the Kitty Viewer and Kirstens Viewer and later used by the Firestorm/Phoenix folks.

Perhaps those who don't use FMOD will someday get the ability as well ? :)
