In greenlife viewer there was a feature to "derender" avatar. Would be cool for CoolVL...

No. This is a spying tool and the Cool VL Viewer is not designed to grieve and spy people...

Spying? well, you could make it say to be not allowed to derender people.. I mean if a giant singing sculpted penis floats over community land, and officers are off - i can mute the penis so it will shut up, but it still will look disgusting, and i'm quite homophobic, so my nerves suffer

The feature you were speaking about doesn't allow to derender others' avatar, but only your own avatar.

Phoenix has a "de-render" option that allows you to derender objects or other people to your view.

Phoenix's dereender is persistent across sessions, the version Imprudence implemented was session specific: you log out and back in, and the object would be re-rendered. (I like the per-session version myself, but that's just me...)

It's really useful when your neighbor decides a 50m tall by 50m wide neon SUPA-GLOW FULL BRIGHT box is the perfect landscape addition.... *twitch*

That is what I suspect the OP is looking for.

(and if you want to complain about spying, honestly, alt-cam does a lot without any real effort. De-render not necessary. :P )

It is not a spying tool at all. It is used to derender for example an avatar you have muted, and also to derender an object when you put another one by mistake in it. It does not mean to derender oneself to be invisible for other people's eyes.

We are obviously not speaking about the same "feature"... Emerald's avatar derendering was about making your own avatar invisible to others.

In any case, I'm too busy dealing with the Mesh backport to implement such minor features for now...

As for hiding an object to find another, there is already an advanced feature to do that: enable "Advanced" --> "Rendering" --> "Hide Selected", and then, each time you select an object (right-clicking on it), it gets hidden till deselected.

I made the patch for Cool VL 1.23.5 and used (also in 1.25.0) privately. It was ported from Phoenix 1.5.0.187, per session version, has no Asset Blacklist.
I updated it for Cool VL 1.26.0.15. But I didn't test enabling RestrainedLove.

This patch includes displaying a confirmation message for Double Click Teleport/Autopilot. Because quickly pie menu operations are often recognized as double click and my avatar suddenly teleport (e.g. More > More > Inspect, More > More > Derender). So I ported from Imprudence Viewer to prevent that.

Thanks for the patch. The code was so messy that I had to rewrite it, but at least, it saved me from searching what parts of the code needed to be modified to implement that feature. It will be part of the next Cool VL Viewer releases, but without the double-click TP confirmation stuff (I fail to see its utility at all, since as long as you click in the pie menu, there is no risk to get a quick succession of clicks interpreted as a double-click on an in-world location).

With the derender added, I was wondering if it might be possible to add an option to derender when muting someone?
