Force Texture Redownload for Avatars?

One feature I noticed in Cool was an option to redownload the textures on an object, by pressing CTRL-SHIFT-U. However, there isn't a similar option for the avatar itself. I've noticed frequently that after relogs, my avatar's skin/clothing textures taking on a blurry appearance. Rebaking doesn't fix this, and I have to clear my cache to get them to show up clear again. Would it be possible to extend this forced texture redownload option to cover an avatar's skin/clothing textures?

And also, I've noticed a high rate of texture blurring after relogs, like the viewer is having issues with reading textures out of the cache.

The features has already been implemented. Right-click on the avatar, then on More> in the pie menu, then on "Refresh".

And, no, there is no caching issue, but the viewer needs time to decode the textures (encoded in JPEG2000 format), and how fast it happens depends on the load of your CPU.

The problem with my avatar appears to have resolved itself. When it was happening, however, no amount of rebaking would fix the blurred skin/clothing textures on my AV: a cache clear & relog was *required* in order to fix it.

Using "Refresh" would have solved this issue (it does clear the cache from the textures and reloads them from the network).

Okay, thanks. Though, I was responding to a post that is no longer present, which had indicated rebake, rather than refresh.

Zauber, are you talking about your own avatar or another avatar?

I've had that blurry textures on my avatar happen in the past with various versons of Cool VL Viewer, and it always seems to resolve itself after a while (meaning several relogs and clear caches later). I don't know what causes it, but have seen it from time to time. My guess is that the texture is corrupted in the cache.

Once some texture gets cached in a corrupted form it seems like it is impossible to get rid of it without relogging. Personally I'd be happy if there was a way to tell the viewer that all the textures in the cache are bad and to start downloading them all over--without having to relog, of course. :)

That refresh other avatar has been a lifesaver in laggy sims, by the way. Thanks Henri!
