I have noticed a lot of viewers Firestorm, Teapot, Kokua, Imprudence, are using "hop://" which ArminWeatherWax has made code available for how to add it, if i am not mistaken he developed this protocol... I might be wrong... Anyways here is how it works:

hop://<grid login uri>/<region name>/<x>/<y>/<z>

So an example of one is:
hop://login.cyberwrld.net:8002/Welcome/128/128/22

I hope you can think about adding this functionality.

Ok, an old topic, but I am curious if this is still a plan for a future version of Cool VL Viewer.

This protocol doesn't seem very solid... What would the viewer log you as in the new grid ?... If you have the same avatar name and password under every grid, then it'd work, but else ?...

Also, when you are logged in a hypergrid-enabled grid, you can already type the login URI of the grid to "hop" to into the sim name line of the world map floater and press the "Search" button: the map will show you the destination in the map and you can TP to it.

I think this is a very good feature to have the difficulty with this is the code for "logout" is very unstable and no one to my knowledge ever fixed those bugs.. regarding which user/pass to login with the viewer should choose the first remembered login/pass combination in its
cache
