Hello,

especially for machinimatographers it might be pretty helpful to be able to set the SL client window to exactly HD or FullHD size.

File to edit: panel_preferences_graphics1.xml

section to edit:
<combo_box allow_text_entry="false" bottom="-67" enabled="true" follows="left|top"
height="18" left="185" max_chars="20" mouse_opaque="true"
name="windowsize combo" width="150">

Add the following lines:

<combo_item type="string" length="1" enabled="true" name="1280x720" value="1280 x 720">
1280x720 (HD)
</combo_item>
<combo_item type="string" length="1" enabled="true" name="1920x1080" value="1920 x 1080">
1920x1080 (FullHD)
</combo_item>

And maybe support different other sizes too. The last ones may be unusable yet, as probably no one has a screen as big as this (yet), but the other two are usable and work for me (i have a 30" 2560x1600 screen):

<combo_item type="string" length="1" enabled="true" name="2560x1440" value="2560 x 1440">
2560x1440 (27" widescreen - iMac)
</combo_item>
<combo_item type="string" length="1" enabled="true" name="2560x1600" value="2560 x 1600">
2560x1600 (30")
</combo_item>
<combo_item type="string" length="1" enabled="true" name="3840x2160" value="3840 x 2160">
3840x2160 (4K UHDTV)
</combo_item>
<combo_item type="string" length="1" enabled="true" name="7680x4320" value="7680 x 4320">
7680x4320 (8K UHDTV)
</combo_item>

Thanks,
Tillie

I won't recommend using the full screen mode. Better using a Windowed viewer, in which case you don't need at all those settings (the viewer will simply match the window size and you can enlarge and shrink the latter at will).

I am not talking about fullscreen.

In windowed mode, the window resizes work too, and it is nice if you can resize the window to HD if you want to record a video with FRAPS. :-)

And with shrinking the window manually you never exactly hit the values you need.

Just hit the "maximize" button of your window and it will instantly fit the screen...

That still wont give me the two HD resolutions with a click. Only my native resolution of 2560x1600.

Ok, you dont want to add it, then I add this to my "update script" that I run after each CV install... which copies over some edited, better accessable windlight menu and now this file. :P

A bunch of new presets have been added in today's release. Also fixed the wrong "PAL" (actually PAL DVD) resolution (720x576 and not 768x576).

Thanks so much. With all those the client should be fine here for several years. :P
