Here are three new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.19.2.90 (stable branch, legacy renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.25 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.2 (experimental branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

New these releases:
  • Updated RevertUIchanges patch: fixes the problem with spurious auto-resizing when receiving different IM types (private, group, conference) and the IM floater is set at its minimum size (see this post for details). For v1.23 and v1.25, this updated patch also implements a switch setting to stack IM tabs vertically (by popular request: 5 users, i.e. around 0.05% of the user base :-p).
  • Updated ObjectBackup patch: prevents getting false reports about failures to export default textures and prevents uploading any default texture when importing.
  • Updated RestrainedLife patch: Fixed: when requesting to attach a category (for example with @attachall), give the priority to the category matching exactly the name instead of using the first category encountered with a partial match (for example @attachall:cuffs=force will give the priority to a #RLV sub-folder named "cuffs" over those containing the "cuffs" word among others such as "collar and cuffs").
  • Updated FloaterGroupTitles patch (for v1.25 only): fixes the problem with the OK button working like Activate instead of closing the Group Titles floater in v1.25.
  • Updated CoolPreferences patch (for v1.23 and v1.25): implements the "Stack IM tabs vertically" setting.
  • The Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.2 is based upon Snowglobe v1.5.0.3625 (SVN trunk version 1.5.0, revision 3625).

Enjoy ! :D

Here are two new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.26 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.3 (experimental branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

New in these releases:
  • New HideTeleportProgress patch: allows to optionally hide the teleport progress screen.
  • Updated ItemLinksSupport patch: this new version implements optional settings in the "Make New Outfit" floater, and restores OpenSim compatibility. See the details in this post.
  • Updated AvatarSizeInAppearance patch (for v1.25 only): this new version is adapted to Snowglobe sources and removes the less precise (off by one inch) size indicator from the shape tab, and replaces it with a size indicator in the floater itself, thus visible as well when the shoes tab is selected (shoes height do affect the avatar size).
  • Updated RestrainedLove patch: allows to enable "Add to Outfit" and "Replace Outfit" even when some RestrainedLove attachment is locked on your avatar (see this post), and allows to use SURLs and the login screen "Start Location" combo when RestrainedLove is enabled (see this post).
  • Updated CoolPreferences patch: adds a setting in the User Interface sub-tab for the new HideTeleportProgress feature.

Enjoy ! :D

Here are two new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.27 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.4 (experimental branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

New in these releases:
  • New CameraConstraints patch: When DisableCameraConstraints is set to TRUE, this patch further disables the camera constraints: 1.- on the minimum zoom distance to avatars (and in particular their attachments). 2.- on the maximum zoom out distance, allowing it to equal the draw distance in all circumstances (used to be further limited by the sim width, i.e. 256m while the draw distance can go up to 512m). When the new CameraIgnoreCollisions debug setting is set to TRUE, it also disables the automatic move of the camera out of objects whenever it collides with them.
  • Updated Radar patch: this new version improves the avatar tracking feature (do not list the avatar name twice in the world map under the tracker dot, keep tracking when the radar update is set to off, and automatically stop tracking when the avatar goes/TPs away). Also, when an avatar goes away, its name is now listed in italics in the radar during the 10s grace period.
  • Updated VisitedLandmarks patch: this new version changes the icon in real time in the inventory (color changed from brown to red) whenever a landmark has been visited.
  • Updated RestrainedLove patch: this new version fixes the "Start Location" combo box manual editing (the viewer failed to log in at the manually entered locations with RestrainedLove v1.23d). See this post.
  • Updated CoolPreferences patch: adds a setting in the Miscellaneous sub-tab for the new CameraIgnoreCollisions feature.
  • Updated CPUhungrySearch patch (relevant to v1.25 only): do not destroy the Search floater (only hide it) when teleporting from the Places search tab. Reminder: destroying the Search floater (via its close ("X") button) also destroys the built-in browsers (which eat up 100% of the CPU power under Linux and MacOS-X due to a bug in LL's proprietary llqtwebkit library) but also make you loose the search results. Toggling (hiding/showing) the Search floater doesn't loose the search results (but keeps your CPU loaded).
  • Updated SLPluginFixes patch (relevant to v1.25 only): this new version allows to play more video formats and to get closer to what v1.23.5 is able to play (Snowglobe v1 based viewers are extremely buggy without this patch, when it comes to media plugins and video streams).

Enjoy ! :D

Here are two new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.28 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.5 (experimental branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

New in these releases:
  • New ContextMenuTextEntry patch: implements a clipboard actions context menu for line and text editors (so to cut/copy/paste/etc just with the mouse).
  • New TemporaryTextureUpload patch: implements temporary textures upload support. See this post for details.
  • New SLPluginAndMediaFixes (replaces SLPluginFixes) patch (relevant to v1.25 only): this new version also fixes the problem with media auto-play failures encountered in Snowglobe v1 based viewers.
  • Updated ItemLinksSupport patch: this new version definitely solves the first glitch that was described in this post.
  • Updated RestrainedLove patch: this new version fixes the failure to properly save the TP ok flag on log off which prevented being able to choose your start location on next log in (see this post), and implements full support for inventory item links (see this post).
  • Updated MoreGridsDynamic patch: fixes an URI for Meta7, adds more OpenSim grids to the list, and entitles you to create your own custom_grids.xml file (same format and place as grids.xml, in the app_settings/ directory) to override and complement the shipped grids.xml file (custom_grids.xml will never be overwritten when you update the viewer).

Enjoy ! :D

Here are two new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.29 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.6 (experimental branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

New in these releases:
  • New ItemLinksAndMultipleAttachmentsSupport patch: with brand new multiple attachments support (see this post), backported from viewer 2, and updated (last glitch fixed) inventory item links support (see this thread). These two features are regrouped in the same patch to prevent unavoidable mutual rejects that would result from two separate patches. Once again, the Cool VL Viewer is the first TPV to provide you with backports from viewer 2 ! ;-)
  • New HighlightPostsWithOwnName patch: highlights text chat posts and/or group chat IMs containing either your first or last name.
  • New MuteBlueDialogs patch: did you notice that even after you muted an object or its owner, their blue dialogs (llDialog() script function) are not muted by the viewers ?... Well, some griefers did notice this security hole and exploited it. 15 minutes after I was the victim of one such griefer, I had a new version of the Cool VL Viewer ready with blue dialogs muting implemented... However, the guy was already banned when I logged back in (I could AR him before the viewer crashed, overloaded with dialogs). LOL !
  • New StutteringLagAndBugsInAudioEngine (replaces StutteringAndLagInAudioEngine and deprecates KeepCachedSounds) patch: this new version fixes more bugs in the audio engine and also the issue with sounds stopping to play in the remaining instances of the viewer after you close another instance (in --multiple mode). The net result of this latter fix is that the KeepCachedSounds patch is no more necessary, freeing a huge amount of disk space if you don't manually clear your cache regularly (expect a lot of disk activity the first time you will log out as the viewer will clear all the old cached sounds). Note that the sounds are still cached, but only in the VFS file (instead of both in the VFS and as individual files with KeepCachedSounds) which size is dynamically kept under control by the viewer.
  • New TextEditorPossibleCrash patch: fixes two possible crash bugs in LLTextEditor.
  • Updated RestrainedLove patch: this new version implements the new commands for multiple attachments support and fixes a bug. The Cool VL Viewer RestrainedLove support is now again on par with Marine's RLV (and without the bugs) ! ;-)
  • Updated MoreGridsDynamic patch: this new version implements separate log and user setting folders for each grid. (for example, I now have .secondlife/henri_beauchamp/ for SecondLife, and .secondilfe/henri_beauchamp@inworldz for Inworldz). This added feature was borrowed from Imprudence with a change that I made so that SecondLife grids (main and beta) keep using the same folder as before.
  • Updated BetterNotecardFloater patch: just a small fix (one #include was missing) to allow this patch to compile as a standalone patch applied to the original sources (the missing include was indirectly added by the RestrainedLove patch...).
  • Updated CoolPreferences patch: so to allow to configure the highlighting color and options for HighlightPostsWithOwnName (see above)...

Enjoy ! :D

Note: on the first launch of the new version, you will notice that your inventory will reload from scratch. This is normal: the inventory cache version has changed (and is now viewer 2 compatible). Should you use another v1-based viewer than the Cool VL Viewer v1.23 or 1.25, you may want to use a different cache directory for each (Edit -> Preferences -> Network -> Disk Cache Location) so that the inventory cache doesn't get discarded each time you switch from one viewer to another...

Here are two new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.30 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.7 (experimental branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

New in these releases:
  • New SimulatorVersionNotification patch: improves the notification message about simulator version changes.
  • New LLFontCrash patch: fixes a crash bug when changing the hardware graphic options and UI size under Linux (but there are still glitches that will force you to restart the viewer after such a change, since the display is corrupted after them... at least, it lets you change the settings and doesn't crash).
  • Updated ItemLinksAndMultipleAttachmentsSupport patch: this new version solves the missing attachments on relog issue and adds a "Wear items" action for folders. See this post for details.
  • Updated HighlightPostsWithOwnName patch: this new version allows to configure nicknames (nicknames are per account settings) which also trigger the chat/group IM posts highlighting.
  • Updated StutteringLagAndBugsInAudioEngine: fixes yet another crash bug in the audio engine.
  • Updated RestrainedLove patch: this new version brings RestrainedLove support on par with Marine's v2.2.
  • Updated RezWithLandGroupWhenPossible patch: fixes the SHIFT-drag to copy issue. See this post for details.
  • Updated TemporaryTextureUpload patch: this new version automatically opens the preview floater for the temporary texture once it is uploaded.
  • Updated CoolPreferences patch: so to allow to configure the nicknames HighlightPostsWithOwnName (see above)...
  • Updated CoolVLViewerBranding patch: updates to the contributors list in the About floater..

Enjoy ! :D

Here are two new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.31 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.8 (experimental branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

These releases are just bug fix releases (no new feature this week):
  • Updated RestrainedLove patch: this new version fixes the crash bug that occurred in previous release (RL v1.24a) when accepting an offered item with RL enabled and no #RLV folder in your inventory (see this thread for details).
  • Updated AvatarNameInWindowTitle patch: this new version only changes the window title after a successful login (prevents badly titled window in case of failed login).

Enjoy ! :D

Here are two new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.32 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.9 (stable branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

New in these releases:
  • New CrashEmptyingTrashFix patch: fixes a nasty crash bug due to a race condition that could occur when emptying the trash just after deleting a folder from your inventory.
  • New GPUtable patch: adds the newest video cards to the gpu_table.txt file to avoid the "unsupported video card" dialog for cards that actually work just fine.
  • New FloaterRegionDebugConsole patch: implements the new region debug console (AKA "Sim console") feature. You may pop up the floater with CTRL SHIFT C or from the "Advanced" -> "Consoles" -> "Region Debug Console" menu item. The SimConsole capability is supported in Second Life RC BlueSteel 10.10.11 servers and later.
  • New BlurryAndGreyTextures patch (for v1.25): cures many grey and blurry textures issues, and brings the HTTP texture fetch worker on par with the latest v2.2 Linden viewer release. As a result, HTTP texture fetching is now on by default in v1.25 (you may still disable it via the "Advanced" -> "Rendering" -> "HTTP Get Textures" toggle).
  • New gcc44compilationErrors patch (for v1.23): fixes gcc v4.4 warnings and errors in ambiguous code that could result into potential bugs depending on the compiler used to compile the viewer.
  • New QuittingWithPendingTasksMesssage patch (for v1.23): fix for a spurious, erroneous message in the log on quitting.
  • Updated RestrainedLove patch: brings RestrainedLove support on par with Marine's v2.2.0.1 (see the Changelog at the end of the RestrainedLove ReadMe for details).
  • Updated RezWithLandGroupWhenPossible patch: this new version also allows you to build on no-build parcels for which you got the build power in their associated group.
  • Updated LLFontCrash patch: in this new version, the work around can be toggled off. See this message for details.
  • Updated RevertUIchanges (for v1.23 and v1.25) and WornInventoryTab (for v1.23) patches: these new versions just fix gcc 4.4 compiler warnings (see gcc44compilationErrors above).
  • The Cool VL Viewer v1.25 is now compiled against the latest Snowglobe v1.5.0.3627 sources.

Note that the Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0 is now considered stable. See this thread for details.

Enjoy ! :D

Here are two new releases of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.33 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.10 (stable branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

New in these releases:
  • New HTMLlinksInGroupNotices patch: makes the HTML links clickable in group notices.
  • Updated BlurryAndGreyTextures patch (for v1.25): this new version at last solves the slow texture decoding/grey textures on attachments, and fixes the bugs that were introduced win v1.25.0.9, bringing the HTTP texture fetch worker back to what it was in Snowglobe v1.5 since the v2.2 worker apparently doesn't play nice with some textures and sculpties... As a result, HTTP texture fetching is now back off by default in v1.25 (you may still enable it via the "Advanced" -> "Rendering" -> "HTTP Get Textures" toggle) till I get everything figured out, since HTTP textures might still show some artefacts/glitches every now and then.
  • Updated AlphaAndTattooSupport patch: adds the color/tint parameter to the Tattoo wearables, bringing them back on par with viewer 2.2 tattoos.
  • Updated ItemLinksAndMultipleAttachmentsSupport patch: minor change, related to the delay between the rezzing of your avatar after login and the moment when the viewer auto-reattaches the multiple attachments on your avatar (decreased from 15 seconds to 10 seconds).

Enjoy ! :D

Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5.34 (stable branch, Windlight renderer)
Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0.11 (stable branch, Snowglobe v1.5-based)

These are bugfix releases, curing the Ruth-shaped avatar bug (see this thread) introduced in v1.23.5.33 and v1.25.0.10. Only the AlphaAndTattooSupport patch was changed in the new releases.

Enjoy ! :D
