Hallo Henri.

I have no idea what caused them, but for one of them I managed to get full logs, attached below.

Thanks.

The crash happens in your graphics card drivers. Since it's an i965 and Intel GPUs are not supported neither guaranteed to work with the SL viewers, I can do nothing for it. Sorry.

Hmm, weird, because afterwards I logged in with Singularity and kept me fine for hours. And, anyway, I never had such crashes before. Anyway, perhaps it was something random, we'll see.

Thanks for looking at the logs.

Different graphics settings yield different results... OpenGL is very badly implemented in Intel GPUs and some OpenGL functions just plain don't work properly with them...

Yeah, I know… My card was splendid for Renderer 1, good enough for 2 and dreadful for 3. I need a new one.

It's probably a stupid question, but couldn't Renderer 1 support mesh? Why not?

However, I suspect this might be a case of bad sectors on my disk. I'll look more into it. If it were so, would the logs be any different?

The full story is here (under "How much time did the backport take ?"). While possible, it would have been too time consuming, beside, new features (such as proper shadows or the upcoming materials rendering) would not have been compatible with the old renderer. It's also easier for me to keep up with LL's viewer when the same renderer is in use in both the official viewer and the Cool VL Viewer (which is now the case with the v1.26.5 branch).

No, the log would have been different (here it's clearly a crash in the graphics driver itself).

Hence it would defeat the purpose, since it would 3-ify the renderer. I understand.

All right, that is good to know. Thank you again!

I guess materials are not in any public alphas/betas yet but LL interal only ...

So far, the servers don't implement the necessary changes (additional parameters in prims meta-data) and there is not even a single piece of viewer code available either (public or otherwise).
