Do I see this right that you have a 2,3 GHz Mobile Celeron, 1gb RAM and Onboard-Graphics (probably Intel GMA 4500M) ?

If yes, then I would personally consider this system VERY low-end for Second Life...

I don't know if this is actually the reason for the crashes, but it could be that the viewer is simply running out of memory.

Yeah that is correct but I've been told today by a tech support guy that my laptop is a good gaming laptop. Plus, no other viewers crash me on teleport - only Cool VL Viewer. I have paid £30 for a registry clean up today too to help with the performance. I have managed to locate my missing app data folder which was hidden - I found help on a website to locate this. I have sent Henri the second life log files that I could find. As I said before I cannot see any dmp files and don't know what he means in the rules when he says go to Advanced to activate the dmp files. It didn't work when I pressed CTRL ALT D and there is no advanced option visible. The Cool VL Viewer really works well for me except the teleport function. Everything else is perfect. Good graphics, moving around is quick and easy, there's no lag. It is purely the connection on teleporting. I don't know why or how this viewer is different to the others but it is. I've tried 5 others now - Firestorm / Phoenix, SL Viewer v3, Nirans, Singularity and Exodus. They all work for me but they are slower, more laggy and blurry on the graphics sometimes. Also with SL Viewer 3 I couldn't ever use the search function or view people's profiles for some reason. So this is another feature I enjoy using the Cool VL Version as that function works perfectly on there for me. Oh I wish someone could help me.

Ok, I know what you mean now by advanced and output minidump thing - it is actually in the menu bar actually in the Viewer when you're logged in. I thought it was on my PC in the C drive or something - wasn't very clear on the 'Rules'! The minidump option was actually ticked but I'm still not getting the dmp file, only one that says Second Life and it's a text document. That's it.

The v3.5 renderer powering the Cool VL Viewer v1.26.6/7 is known to have issues with Intel-HD graphics (which I'd hardly consider suitable for *any* modern OpenGL game... See Tom's Hardware Guide latest hierarchy chart for GPUs, and see how low the HD4000 is ranked: at the level of an old NVIDIA 7600 GT, but even the latter would perform better thanks to much more compliant OpenGL drivers than Intel's).
One of the known issues is that there's a bug in Intel's drivers that makes them leak memory like crazy, which is probably the cause of your crashes.

You should rather use the Cool VL Viewer v1.26.4 which uses the "old" v2.6 renderer that doesn't trigger that memory leak bug and that will also run 15-20% faster than v1.26.6/7 on old/low end hardware...

For anyone reading this and considering the buying of a new computer or graphics card, the best choice for SL (and any OpenGL game) is NVIDIA (ATI's OpenGL drivers also have many issues, though much less than Intel's, and ATI doesn't provide up to date drivers for its "legacy" (read: two years old or older) hardware, when NVIDIA keeps publishing updated drivers even for its oldest cards).

PS: new releases to be published in the coming hour or so: you should pick those.

Thanks Henri. I have downloaded the older version as you suggested and it works. Hooray! It isn't as speedy and the graphics aren't as clear as the newer version of the viewer but it is ok. Thanks for your help.
