When I log into OSGrid, all my attachments are detached. It doesn't happen every time, but here is a log of the last time.

This is still happening. It doesn't happen everytime I log into OSGrid, but it does more times than not. Right after the "Your avatar's outfit is now fully restored" popup, all prim attachments are detached. I've disabled RestrainedLove Mode and cleared the cache but it made no difference. I've logged out of Second Life and directly into OSGrid, but that makes no difference either. Sometimes prims are detached, other times not. Has anyone else had this happen or have any ideas what to try? It started in the last version and has carried on in the current.

Hi Jeeper, hello Henri,

Yes, I can observe it when logging on to Kitely. It doesn't happen every time and not necessarily for every attachment. As you noted, first after logon, things seem to be there and poof off immediately after the restoration message. To be honest, I have no clue what the issue might be, though.

Love,
Lia

I tried hard but so far could not reproduce this issue... Make sure your avatar_name@grid_name folder (where the chat and IM logs are stored too) is accessible and that you got write permission to it. Also, try removing the outfit.xml and attachments.xml file in that folder and relog).

Finally, for tomorrow's releases, I added a new "InitialOutfit" Debug Tag ("Advanced" -> "Debug Tags" on the login screen and "Advanced" -> "Consoles" -> "Debug Tags" once logged in) to try and trace in the log what's going on exactly (your logs show nothing wrong). Just set that tag before logging in, and if you encounter again this issue during the session, post the corresponding log.

It took me a few times before I realized that Debug Tags aren't saved between starts and then to remember to check it when I started, but here's the log.

Your log shows that the attachments were not listed in the outfit.xml file and, thus, correctly removed by the viewer... The question being: why weren't the attachments listed in the first place ?... Either you logged in with a different viewer in-between two Cool VL Viewer sessions, or there's another issue (probably partly server-side related) that I still cannot reproduce on my side. To try and find out what's happening exactly, I added in today's releases (v1.26.4.72, 1.26.8.8 and v1.26.9.8) more debug messages triggered by the "InitialOutfit" debug tag that should make things more obvious.

Please, proceed as follow:

  • Start a Cool VL Viewer session.
  • Enable the "InitiialOutift" debug tag.
  • Activate the debug console to watch the messages ("Advanced" -> "Consoles" -> "Debug Console").
  • Wait for your avatar to fully rez (and wait some more till all your avatar attachments are rezzed): if attachments are missing, wear them and wait again till no "Outfit items list saved to..." message is shown in the debug console any more (some OpenSim grids are utterly slow at rezzing attachments, something that is now (old) history in SL, and that could explain your problem if you log out too soon and before every attachment is fully rezzed).
  • Log out and save the CoolVLViewer.log file in a safe place (copy it as CoolVLViewer1.log, for example).
  • Start again a new Cool VL Viewer session.
  • Enable the "InitiialOutift" debug tag.
  • Activate the debug console to watch the messages ("Advanced" -> "Consoles" -> "Debug Console").
  • Wait for your avatar to fully rez (same remark as for the 1st session).
  • Log out, zip the new log and the old (CoolVLViewer1.log) one, and post them in this thread.

It seems that if I have activated a group, the prims are not detached. I've logged in several times, with a group tag on and everything works as it should. When I removed the group tag, my prims are detached after the "Your avatar's outfit is now fully restored" popup.

I still cannot reproduce this bug, regardless of how hard I try. The group stuff won't make any difference either (inventory items UUIDs don't depend on the group, and the viewer doesn't care about the group when syncing attachments based on UUIDs stored in the outfit.xml file and in the inventory): I tried that, nevertheless, but found no problem whatsoever. I'm starting to suspect a server bug but, by lack of any way to reproduce it myself, I can't prove it either...
