So, whenever you try to TP to another sim/region the viewer crashes after a uncomfortable wait time. When there is a event going on and there are more than 10 or more avatars on the same region, things start getting very laggy and sim ping time goes into the tens of thousands, and crash you go or the sim itself. His could be just a grid issues and not a viewer issue. But I have notice that when I brought my graphics settings from High to Low, it did help a lot and my sim pig time was only in the hundreds.

Bellow is my viewer info and log files.

Of course these files are a few days old.

Ah, nothing new then (no new crash) ?

I had a look at those crash dumps already: the crash occurred in a Windows DLL call done from the worker thread for image decoding. Very strange, since there's nothing there that is susceptible of causing such a crash (and the code is identical in all viewers in this part of the sources)... Perhaps an anti-virus getting in the way ?

Ok so I the viewer crashed twice on me when trying to TP.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9sV-i ... sp=sharing

I also sent you an email with the sim logs, we didn't want to put them on the forum.

I am using Norton Internet Security. I checked the permissions for Cool VL and its set for full access.

The crash dump file is missing... Can't deduce what happened just from the log.

Thanks, but such logs are of no use to me... I'm not an OpenSim server developer, and I don't have access to the grid configuration itself.

The interaction I was referring to was not about a blocking of the viewer by the anti-virus, but about the "infection" of the viewer or of the Windows DLLs it uses by anti-virus hooks (aimed at detecting virus attacks) that would introduce bugs and cause havoc in the threading model. Try disabling your anti-virus altogether, and see if the crashes still happen...

Also, since the crashes happen after TP, please enable the "Teleport" debug tag in "Advanced" -> "Consoles" -> "Debug tags" before TP, so to get more log info.

If disabling the anti-virus is not enough to cure the crashes, you could also try and disable "Advanced" -> "Rendering" -> "Textures" -> "Clear Stale Fetches on TP", and see if it stops the crashes from happening.

I copied everything to the zip for that day and the dump file wasn't modified for the day given. I am guessing it didn't detect a crash, or the date modified for the file didn't register the new date in the window file explore. Also, I should note that when the previous days that a dump file was created because of a crash, I end task Cool VL to hurry up closing the viewer. The last two crashes yesterday, I just waited for the viewer to close. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I will try your suggestions for the disabling the anti-virus program when running the viewer and setting the debug tags for TP'ing.

Either the viewer crashes, or you close it, but both can't happen simultaneously. And *all* crashes are detected and result in a dump file to be generated, under Windows.

Ok so I crashed 2 more times while TP'ing today.. The screen just froze the first time and closed. The second time the screen froze and then I got a windows message saying the viewer stopped responding. Neither were logged into the dump file as I can see from the modified date. But I included the old ones just incase windows fire explore is not giving me the modified date correctly. I did disable my anti-virus during this time. And enabled TP debugging.

BTW, I check the sim log on my last "crash" and got this:
Code:
2016-11-01 16:25:47,173 DEBUG - OpenSim.Region.ClientStack.LindenUDP.LLClientView [CLIENT]: Close has been called for Geoff Earnshaw attached to scene Thalassa

So when I say the viewer crashed in the previous post, the viewer would not respond and froze, I then I end tasked it. I might need a clarification on what a crash means in the would of tech gooroos like yourself.

These are not viewer crashes !

If you close down the viewer (be it by closing the window or killing the process), it is normal that there is no crash dump !

Please, let the viewer proceed till it crashes (if at all): my guess is that your system is just super-slow (hard disk issues ?), and the viewer then takes ages destroying all objects after TP.

Also, I made a test on Dream Nation this evening and noticed the viewer was much slower on that grid than on any other when cleaning up the objects list: a few seconds, instead of much less than one second normally... Not sure why, but this seems grid-specific. I never crashed however, despite many TPs.
